Legal Guardians

If you have children who are under 18 and you have not made a Will, then please make it a priority.

If you die and you have not made a Will which will nominate who you want as a legal guardian, and there is no person surviving with legal parental responsibility, then the Courts / local authority can and most likely will place your children into care while they make the decision as to who is the correct person to carry out the care / guardian duties.

Choosing a legal guardian is not one many of us are comfortable considering as it is likely to stir up a lot of emotion and sometimes, conflict between parents who may have differing views. By appointing a legal guardian in your Wills, will be in the best interests of your children, and will also allow you to feel as confident as possible that you have made the best possible arrangements for their future and security.
